Plastic-free it’s our first mission.

<Time> reports that Victor Vescovo, an American deep-sea explorer, recently discovered a plastic bag and candy wrapping paper floating at the bottom of the ocean during one of the deepest manned diving studies.

In addition to finding four new species, Victor said, it was even more surprising that he had found plastic garbage on the seafloor, and scientists were deciding to start exploring whether these organisms were taking plastic.

Plastic particles have already been eaten by people.

Expert analysis shows that plastic particles have been found in tap water and bottled water and beer. But the most common case is in marine organisms, showing how serious plastic pollution is in the sea. Recently, plastic particles have been found in human feces for the first time, proving that people have already eaten plastic.

The team conducted statistical analysis in 26 studies that looked at the number of plastic particles in fish, shellfish, sugar, salt, beer, and water. As well as the number of plastic particles in urban air.

Next, we calculated how many plastic particles people would eat in a year according to the daily dietary index. Found that adults would eat 50,000, and children would eat about 40,000.

However, most foods and drinks such as food and bottled drinks have not yet been tested. Which means that the plastic particles actually are eaten much higher than those studied.

“Bread, processed products, meat, dairy products, and vegetables, all of which may contain plastic particles. After all, in the process of manufacturing and transportation, there are all these substances.

But if we analyze the data, the water source is a very good comparison. The study found that plastic particles in bottled water are 22 times more than tap water. If people drink bottled water all year, they will drink 130,000 plastic particles, while those who only drink tap water are 4,000 plastic particles.

Scientists admit that even though it is not known how plastic particles affect human health, long-term accumulation must be a risk, not careless.
